A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed before the Supreme Court on Friday demanding a CBI probe into the killing of five associates of Vikas Dubey by the Uttar Pradesh Police. Let us tell you that all the five accused were killed in an encounter by the police.

The police chased Dubey and surrendered to him but when he did not do so, he piled him into an encounter. Vikas Dubey was accused of killing eight policemen in Bikaru village near Kanpur.
The police killed Dubey's key aides in separate encounters in different cities of Uttar Pradesh. Whereas on July 3 - the day eight policemen were killed - two of his companions, Prem Prakash Pandey and Atul Dubey were killed in an encounter. On July 8, the police killed another associate Amar Dubey, who had a reward of 50 thousand rupees.
On July 9, two more associates of gangster Vikas Dubey were killed in separate encounters in Kanpur and Etawah districts in Kanpur case. In Kanpur, Prabhat Mishra was shot dead by the police when he tried to escape from police custody and another associate of Vikas Dubey, Praveen alias Bauwa Dubey, was shot dead in an encounter in Etawah. Mishra was arrested from Faridabad on Wednesday.
